Former Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and Manchester United striker Dimitar Ivanov Berbatov has offered Arsenal F.C, top marksman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang some piece of valuable advice amidst the transfer speculation surrounding the former Gabon national team captain.
Spanish giants Barcelona have been heavily linked with the striker who seems unsettled in north London with Arsenal competing for just the F.A Cup this season and may yet miss out on champions league football for another season.
The fact that he currently has just one year left on his current deal and might even be required to take a pay-cut due to the Covid-19 pandemic currently rocking the world doesn’t make matters any better. His situation is also being monitored by Barcelona’s division rivals Real Madrid as he is also reportedly a major priority for the Los Blancos current boss Zinedine Zidane.
Despite having a colorful goal-laden career so far, one thing that has continued to elude the prolific goalscorer is a major trophy and Berbatov believes that this will be a major factor when the time comes for Auba to make a decision on his future.
He told Betfair: ‘You have to ask if Aubameyang is happy at Arsenal and, if he isn’t, I can understand why. Football is about winning trophies and we all know Arsenal are a team that play attractive football but in the end they have been left empty-handed quite a lot of times. That can be frustrating for a player.
‘Also, the overall performance of the team can bother you sometimes. Aubameyang is a striker so goals will be important for him, the way he plays, how he plays and how he feels, the only person who can tell you about that is him.
Berbatov is warning Aubameyang not to make a rash decision on his future as both teams vying for his signature have a plethora of talents up front that will give him a run for his money when it comes to fighting for playing time.
Barcelona boast of having a deadly front-line that includes the likes of Lionel Messi who is arguably the greatest man to ever kick a football, Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and fast rising sensation Ansu Fati while Los Merengues have an attacking lineup of Bale, Hazard, Benzema, Jovic and Rodrygo.
Do you think Auba can break into any of these teams?
