Still on the issue of corona virus and The premier league preparations towards a possible return, a series of tests have been carried out by the footballing body in a bid to ensure a safe environment for the league to return back to action.
The league carried out 748 tests on Sunday and Monday , the report is that they’ve had six positive tests spread across three clubs
The tests are being done as part of the process to pave the way for matches to restart in June.
Squads were allowed to return to training , carried out according to physical distancing, on Tuesday.
The premier league said in a statement: “The premier league can today confirm that, on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19.
“Of these , six have tested positive from three clubs. Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days.
“The premier league is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and oversight.
“No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the premier league due to legal and operational requirements”
Germany’s bundesliga, which restarted last Saturday announced 10 positive tests in the early May from 1,724 tests on players and staff at clubs in the top two tiers
